**Brief Summary of Position:**

Works under minimal supervision to perform standard duties in support of the purchasing and planning function of the organization. Responsible for purchasing, material requirement planning, supplier relationship management and product life cycle management from supply chain perspective. Uses judgment and discretion based on ERP needs to purchase materials at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, delivery, and other factors. Purchases materials, equipment, supplies and services of a specialized or complex nature in accordance with prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures. Able to utilize scheduling techniques to meet customer demands in a timely manner while mitigating risks associated with supply chain in terms of quality and timeliness.

**Essential Duties of the Position:**

* Plan and schedule orders to meet on time customer demands and internal stocking demands.

* Ensure capacity constraints are considered in planning for production and purchasing.

* Ensure inventory turnover goals are maintained through planning activities.

* Negotiate pricing and related terms with suppliers/vendors to put the company in the best position to balance cost with quality with supplier relationships. Manage vendor proposals, reconcile invoices, prepare tax documentation, and receipt

* Established and proven capabilities in the areas of: Purchasing Equipment, supplies, non-inventory items, MRO and manufacturing supplies/consumables. All aspects of PO development, processing, verification, terms, and execution.

* Good organization and communication skills for the tracking of tasks, orders, forecast reviews, changes in parameters.

* Examine and analyze departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information; determines method to process requisition based on dollar amount, timeliness required, existing open contracts, and/or competitive bidding.

* Prepare and place purchase orders and ensure product is shipped according to deadlines. Monitor orders for on time delivery and or expediting.

* Seek new suppliers based on best price, quality, availability, reliability, and technical support. Ensure vendor meet company ISO standards and approvals.

* Will actively work with Manager to reduce product costs through proactive supply chain management.

* Manage supplier quality ratings, scorecards and ensures they are actively represented in the Approved Supplier List.

* Assure that all activities comply with Maurys ISO 9000 and AS9100 procedures

* Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements (education, prior work experience, special skills, etc.)**

* Minimum Bachelors degree with 5 years planning/ purchasing experience in manufacturing environment or 10 years with AA degree

* Microsoft Office proficiency, advanced Excel skills

* Must have a deep understanding of MRP concepts and supply chain management

* Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

* Strong negotiation skills

* Proficiency in MRP (AS4000 preferred).

* Ability to analyze data and make suggestions based upon the analysis

* Previous planning/scheduling experience preferred.
