The Retail Sales Representative is responsible for growing the Holt Cat brand within a defined geographic territory and call plan through direct customer interaction and in collaboration with the account managers for new and used sales within the Building Construction Product (BCP) family of machines, work tools, and service plans. In addition, this position will support sales-related functions such as walk-in customers, marketing initiatives, product demonstrations, and retail inventory display maintenance.Essential Functions:Drives the retail customer experience through management of the sales process, display inventory, lead funnel, sales campaigns, and customer interaction in collaboration with marketing and outside sales representativesLocates, develops and maintains new prospects and existing customers for new and used equipment through customer-facing activity and technology-based solutionsPrepares and communicates machine pricing, finance options, and sales/rental agreements independently and in collaboration with outside sales representativesSupports the Holt sales initiatives through account management, cold calling, influencing walk-in customers, and deal management from initiation to closeInfluences customer purchasing decisions by emphasizing features and benefits through the use of Caterpillar's value propositionDemonstrates BCP inventory through the use of showroom displays, marketing tools, websites, and literaturePerforms job requirements at various Holt facilities as well as off-site locations including customer offices, job sites, and neutral meeting spacesProvides legendary customer service for internal and external customersMeets and exceeds individual and department goals for selling, quoting, customer satisfaction results, and prospecting every monthMaintains detailed sales activity within Holt Cat's CRM tool (Sales Link)Manages sales order workflow and documentation through COTIRequires regular and punctual employee attendanceWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of construction and rental industry equipmentKnowledge of basic operation and applications for Caterpillar, Non-Cat Products, and AttachmentsKnowledge of all shipping and receiving for all machines and attachments for operationsKnowledge of merchandising programs with HOLT and Cat FinanceKnowledge of business accounting principlesExcellent oral and written communication skillsExceptional organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skillsIntermediate computer and related software applications skillsAdvanced MS Office Suite skills with Excel, PowerPoint, and WordAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphsAbility to interact with tact and courtesy and maintain a professional mannerThe ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writingThe ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentencesEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree in related field preferredMinimum of two years of work-related experience and skills relevant to the positionBilingual preferredAdditional Requirements:Valid Driver's license requiredSupervisory Responsibilities:NoneTravel:Extensive travel within the assigned region may be requiredWe also provide excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401K plans, life insurance, vacation, and holiday pay.Disclaimer:Please note that the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
