Sr Director, Enterprise Behavioral Health

The Sr. Director, Strategic Programs leads Sentara Enterprise behavioral health' Clinical Services transformation and is charged with creation of the approach to solve complex business problems as well as plan and oversee execution of growth, innovation initiatives, large scale strategic projects. This role will serve as the primary liaison with Sentara Health Care Senior Leadership working through strategic planning and implementation of Sentara Health Plan clinical initiatives. The incumbent will support the team in applying an iterative, design thinking process and customer-centric design to solve complex problems in business planning, process improvement, technology and will liaison with the Health Plan, the process improvement department, the health plan project management office, the network management team as well as external partners or potential partners.

Minimum 5 years Health Plan experience, or Design-Thinking, Business Process Design, or Six Sigma

Master's level degree required.

Sentara Enterprise Behavioral Health Senior Director for BH initiatives and Programs This position, reporting directly to the VP for Behavioral Health, is a key leadership role across the enterprise. The Senior Director, EBH, is a highly visible role, working with the VPs, Senior Directors, Directors in the Sentara health plan, medical group and acute care divisions. This role will be primarily internally facing with possible direct interaction and representation with state and local regulatory agencies, local community partners, providers and strategic targets. This roll will be key to the development and implementation of new programs, innovative initiatives and novel collaborations across the enterprise. Specific duties: Drives Innovation for Enterprise Behavioral Health Execute initiatives for Sentara enterprise leadership in overarching strategic planning, growth objectives and the development of new business partnerships or joint ventures in the behavioral health space this role will interact with all levels of leadership within Sentara. Work with others to ideate, plan and execute on Behavioral Health Strategy for the enterprise as EBH grows both within and outside of Virginia. Evaluates new trends in behavioral health and partners with BH leadership to develop internal plan/system behavioral health guidelines and protocols guiding decision management for improved outcomes Provides recommendations for policies and procedures related to newly defined programs; supports the health system and health plan as needed for adoption in committees where needed Develops and supports partnerships across the system in BH including acute and ambulatory care Works collaboratively in all geographies with internal and external business partners, network providers and community resources to build innovative programs for members in all lines of business Works with FQHCs and CSBs to improve BH access, prevention and treatment availability Work with team to evaluate potential BH vendors to complement internal programming Supports the creation of a collaborative model of care within Sentara and with partners Supports Community Relations, develops and submits grant applications for BH programming in conjunction with Sentara and our community partners Serves as behavioral health subject matter expert regarding the analysis of utilization, cost and outcome trends; identifies opportunities for improvement and recommends/develops key performance metrics aligned to the opportunity. Behavioral health implementation leader. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years experience in BH managed care provider or health plan operations Master’s degree in BH related field Subject matter expertise as demonstrated by experience, new program development; planning and implementation; program management. Experience in working with governmental agencies, including State Medicaid Experience with regulatory and accrediting body requirements (eg NCQA, HEDIS, STARS, CMS, DNV, DBHDS, DMAS, etc) Program design and development experience Preferred: MBA, MHA, MPH Active participation in national BH societies Prior strategic and development experience Master's Level Degree Bachelor's Level Degree Leadership 5 years Health Insurance Plans 5 years Writing Troubleshooting Time Management Technology/Computer Systems Evaluation Systems Analysis Speaking Social Perceptiveness Service Orientation Science Reading Comprehension Quality Control Analysis Project Management Persuasion Monitoring Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Mgmt of Staff Resources Mgmt of Material Resources Mgmt of Financial Resources Mathematics Learning Strategies Leadership Judgment and Decision Making Critical Thinking Coordination Complex Problem Solving Communication Active Listening Active Learning
