Magnolia River is currently seeking a Leave and Absence Specialist The Leave and Absence Administrator is responsible for managing and administering employee leave programs, including sick leave, vacation leave, and other absences. This role involves ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional support to employees regarding their leave entitlements.

**This is a part-time role that will work around 20 hours a week and requires a minimum of three years of experience managing various leave programs (FMLA, STD, PFL, etc.) **

Duties and Responsibilities of the Leave and Absence Specialist:

  • Serve as primary point of contact for employees regarding leave inquiries.
  • Assist employees in understanding their rights and responsibilities related to leave.
  • Administer all leave requests, including processing, tracking, and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to employee leave (FMLA, ADA, paid sick leave requirements, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate records of employee leave balances and usage.
  • Assist in the development and updating of leave policies and procedures.
  • Ensure policies are communicated effectively to all employees.
  • Generate reports related to employee leave usage and trends for management review.
  • Analyze leave-related data to identify patterns and recommend improvements.
  • Work closely with HR business partners, benefits team, payroll, disability provider, and managers to ensure seamless coordination of leave processes.
  • Stay updated on changes in employment laws and best practices related to leave management.
  • Additional benefits or HR related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Qualifications of the Leave and Absence Specialist:
  • Strong knowledge of state and Federal laws regarding leave-related regulatory requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of HR processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform in a detail-oriented environment with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials.
  • Ability to compile, review, and reconcile data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • An associate degree or higher in human resources or business is preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of directly related experience is required.
  • CEBS certification is preferred.
