Job Overview

The Lead Software Compliance Analyst supports Software Asset Management (SAM) compliance activities. This involves identifying, building, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data. They recommend, develop, and implement comprehensive analyses to ensure compliance with business process requirements during SAM audits, covering both server and client software environments. Serving as the technical resource for the SAM team, they maintain and enhance the SAM system in ServiceNow. Additionally, they support and mentor other Analysts in audit, compliance, and process improvement activities. They also assist with Infrastructure process and policy improvements, as well as other general compliance activities. They perform other assigned duties as assigned.

What You Will Do

Understand various license types and software suites to facilitate reporting and metrics development.

Collaborate with the SAM team to develop and manage the ServiceNow SAM foundation tool. This includes creating and developing software discovery models for normalization with the team.

Enhance and maintain the ServiceNow SAM foundation tool.

Partner and collaborate with business units for updates and integrations to the SAM tool.

Track purchase records within the SAM tool to ensure accurate data for license compliance analysis.

Collaborate with software suppliers and VARs to validate software purchase history and entitlements.

Facilitate ongoing technical support and upgrade protection for selected products by managing maintenance, support, and upgrade protection renewals in advance of expiration.

Identify opportunities for savings on renewals, software licensing, and support services.

Partner with Strategic Sourcing to maximize value creation and minimize costs for software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings.

Collect information for budgeting, software compliance, inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisons.

Introduce new ideas and processes to enhance performance and productivity.

Skills You Will Need

Data Analysis : Proficiency in identifying, building, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to ensure compliance with business process requirements during SAM audits.

Data Management : Track purchase records within the SAM tool to ensure accurate data for license compliance analysis, collecting information for budgeting, software compliance, inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisons.

Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and detailed analytical report writing.

SAM Tool Experience : Familiarity with SAM tools like ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, and discovery tools like SCCM, JAMF, Tanium for running reports and analyzing installation data.

Programming Knowledge : Knowledge or experience with programming is desired for enhanced technical capabilities.

Excel Proficiency : Basic Excel skills, including Pivot tables, Vlookups, and data analysis, are required for preparing software license positions.

Organizational Skills : Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and projects effectively, demonstrating independence and minimal supervision.

Compliance and Process Improvement : Experience in compliance and process improvement, with the ability to introduce new ideas and processes to enhance performance and productivity.

Stakeholder Influence and Communication : Proficient in effectively escalating analysis results and influencing management decisions through compelling analysis and recommendations. Skilled in presenting compliance analysis and reporting to IFS management, influencing decision-making processes, and recommending optimal measurements and infrastructure audit improvements.

Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 5-7 years of Software Asset Management experience.

Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
