POSITION DESCRIPTION
Senior Accountant

FUNCTION:
Responsible for performing the monthly close and financial statement preparation. Additionally, the individual will perform other general and cost accounting functions. Will perform analyses and account reconciliations to comply with GAAP, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidate must have a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly as they relate to contract accounting and revenue recognition.
Must understand federal government contract accounting, and related regulatory compliance.
Analyze, adjust, and record transactions in AR, AP, and Inventory subledgers and general ledger.
Prepare monthly financial package for submission to management.
Perform detailed analyses and reconciliations of major GL accounts.
Assist our auditors with interim and year-end examinations.
Maintain intercompany billing and account reconciliation.
Review and approve travel expenses entered through Concur.
Compute and track commissions to employees and third parties.
Monitor AR receipts and AP/Payroll disbursements.
Prepare weekly and monthly cash forecasts.
Responsible for preparation of budgets and cash flow reports.
Maintain a positive work environment through professional and courteous conduct and communications with others.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree Accounting or equivalent. CPA, CMA, or graduate degree a plus
5+ years general accounting experience
Knowledge of Costpoint and ERP systems a plus, proficiency in Microsoft Office
