We are seeking a highly motivated
Energy Policy Analyst
to join our Washington Policy team. With our headquarters located in Washington, DC, clients look to Compass Point to be a leading voice on political and regulatory initiatives that may impact industries and the broader capital markets. The ideal candidate will be able to report on proposed regulations from the earliest stages of the legislative process through implementation of rules and laws.
Responsibilities
Lead Energy Policy effort with a focus on macro, legislative, and regulatory efforts.
Communicate the impact of legislative / regulatory initiatives through policy reports and direct client interactions.
Identifies key thought leaders and moderates timely calls with institutional investors.
Corroborates with sales team in outlining the impact policy may have on specific companies.
Advise clients on policy driven opportunities across the energy sector.
Coordinate and hosts topical and actionable policy events and meetings for clients.
Conduct bespoke work as needed for clients.
Qualifications
The following are the minimum requirements for this position:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the public policy field.
Existing legislative / regulatory / institutional client relationships preferred.
Undergraduate or graduate degree from a leading institution with evidence of strong academic success. Degree in Public Policy, Law, Finance or Economics a plus.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to multi-task, work independently, be flexible with work hours.
The ideal candidate will quickly integrate and become a meaningful contributor to the team.
Candidate must be authorized to work permanently in the U.S. Compass Point does not offer sponsorship for work visas.
