Job Description

Hilltop Holdings is looking for a Treasury Analyst to be responsible for the monthly production of the Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) Model, including analysis of the Banks balance sheet with presentation of this analysis to senior management. The Treasury Analyst will also play a key role in assisting with the semi-annual capital stress testing process. The Treasury Analyst will develop processes and procedures for improving the data inputs and assumptions for the stress testing process and FTP modeling. The analyst will assist with monthly consolidated and subsidiary BASEL capital calculations and assist the Capital Planning Manager and Treasurer with formulating, analyzing and executing capital allocation and optimization strategies. The Treasury Analyst will have a strong technical background including the use of SQL, Visual Studio or other data transformative tools as well as familiarity with Oracle reporting units. This position requires an understanding of current and emerging regulatory requirements as they pertain to bank Treasury, regulatory (BASEL) capital, liquidity and other areas of the banking sector. This position will work with various departments to meet the reporting needs as they pertain to ALCO, budgeting, FTP/economic capital, risk management and regulatory reporting as well as assisting with the planning and implementation of several long-term projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and build out of the FTP process and development of an economic capital allocation process, including data gathering and analysis, preparation of monthly reporting and presentation materials for senior management.
  • Assist with capital stress testing process which includes, but is not limited to, accessing, retrieving and uploading relevant economic data from sources such as Moody's and the Federal Reserve, preparation of analysis and forecasts (NII, PPNR, capital, liquidity) utilizing BancWare and other analytic tools and working with CFOs and other SMEs across various lines of business to review and challenge assumptions and results.
  • Assist with monthly consolidated and subsidiary BASEL capital calculations.
  • Generate and prepare reports for ALCO which include Treasury modeling results pertaining to regulatory capital, liquidity, FTP and economic capital. Document and report all assumptions and create variance reports from expected results as necessary.
  • Collect and maintain large data sets to use within modeling or other data mining initiatives. Create, recommend and implement new data sources and efficiency improvements to existing data sources. Must be able to troubleshoot any data issue or transformation problems using SQL, Visual Basic or other similar programs.
  • Analyze balance sheet metrics such as aggregates, asset/liability profiles, income, duration and convexity on a drill down basis to ensure accurate and consistent representation of the balance sheet.
  • Provide reporting and analysis to other departments as needed through SQL and other analytical data aggregation tools.
  • Assist with annual goodwill testing and analysis.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required. Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or other related field strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years in direct Treasury experience required. Additional related experience in banking or finance industry with extensive knowledge of BASEL capital regulatory rules, accounting, finance, investment securities, FTP methodology, and/or derivatives strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to database management or development; bank funding; or other technical functions strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills required. SQL Database, VBA, Oracle, SNL, and/or Bancware Treasury experience strongly preferred. Specific knowledge of BDI (Bancware) is highly preferred.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Extensive writing and documentation required.
  • CFA and/or MBA or progress towards, a plus
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work with little supervision.
