This position is a key part of the building and grounds team at CMSS. It is a multifaceted role that supports critical operations within the organization. As a custodian at CMSS, you'll maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment for employees, clients, and residents. You'll perform routine cleaning tasks and address specific building upkeep and maintenance needs as requested. As the driver at CMSS, you will provide essential transportation services to CMSS clients and residents. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, reliable, and takes pride in being part of a meaningful community. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Custodial Support: This role maintains the cleanliness of multiple CMSS buildings. Cleaning duties include but are not limited to: Maintaining floors in a clean state by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and vacuuming Emptying and cleaning trash receptacles and collect recycling Cleaning, sanitizing, and supplying bathrooms Cleaning common areas including kitchens, hallways, copy rooms, windows and doors Cleaning and servicing custodial equipment as needed Performing minor upkeep, maintenance and repairs on furniture, buildings, and equipment Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department Maintaining an accurate inventory of supplies and usage rate Ensure external grounds area are clean and orderly, including completing daily rounds and picking up any trash and/or debris Other duties as assigned Driving Support: This role provides transportation services to CMSS clients and residents. This is an essential service to enhance the quality of life of those we serve and includes: Driving our 12-passager bus to resident and client outings throughout the Chicagoland area With the support of team members, ensuring residents and clients safely get on and off the bus Maintaining the bus including cleaning and assisting to ensuring all maintenance is completed Promptly reporting any issues with the vehicle(s) Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS : Strong interpersonal skills, including maintaining professional interactions with program participants and co-workers. Strong customer service skills EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS and EXPERIENCE 2 years related experience and/or training Must hold a valid drivers license in the State of Illinois On-the-job training provided
