The Quality Control (QC) Manager is responsible to the Director of Maintenance (DOM) for the QC functions of the AAIP on all Company Aircraft and QC Reports.

Essential Functions and Duties:

Work with the Director of Safety on Company internal audits.

Supervises the Technical Records Clerk and audits records for FAA & AAIP compliance.

Supervises Maintenance Planner in creating Work Plans for all interval Inspections on the Company fleet, whether in-house or outsourced, establishing approximate schedules.

Works with the Maintenance Manager on choosing the Base for each Inspection and establishing a fixed schedule for them.

Works with the Purchasing Agent monitoring standards for parts Receival Inspections and component overhaul/repair vendors.

Works with DOM to audit outside maintenance vendors and instruct them in Ryan Air program and regulatory requirements.

Works with Supervisors & Maintenance Instructor in qualifying personnel for RII capabilities, keeping a current list of all personnel holding RII approvals and their restrictions.

Research all Airworthiness Directives (AD’s) for applicability to Company aircraft, assure proper completion of all that apply. Maintain the current AD listings for Company aircraft.

Research Service Bulletins (SB’s) for applicability to Company aircraft, confer with DOM on which SB’s to comply with. Keep the current SB listings for Company aircraft.

File timely Service Difficulty Reports for findings on Company Aircraft.

Maintain AFM/POH manuals for currency including equipment lists and Weight & Balance.

Maintain Engine & Propeller Logs for Company aircraft.

Uses internal audit programs and systems analysis to determine trends, fatigue points, and inspection effectivity. Analyze data for identifying defects in products or vendor work, helping to locate the source or cause of defects and developing resolutions for improvement.

Maintain AMT currency by working occasional maintenance tasks.

Other duties as assigned.

Competencies:

Ability to make airworthiness determinations using OEM Manuals and Regulation.

Ability to train personnel in maintenance and inspection practices.

Ability to work with OEM’s or DER’s regarding repair approvals and engineering data.

Must be able to see and measure damage or structural abnormalities on aircraft.

Ability to analyze and solve problems.

Computer skills required.

Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Ability to take directions and be flexible.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The QCM supervises the Technical Records Specialist, and the Maintenance Planner positions, training them in required tasks to accomplish their duties. The QCM also monitors and trains Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) personnel for competency while they are performing QC functions such as RII and SPII tasks.

Education and Experience:

Associate degree or equivalent preferred.

A&P Certification required with Inspection Authorization preferred.

Prior aircraft maintenance experience on Turbine/Turbo Prop aircraft.

Prior experience in managing maintenance/inspection programs.

Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Required to submit to a pre-hire DOT/FAA drug test and be subject to random drug testing.

Must be able to pass the TSA background check to obtain a SIDA badge.
