Description

SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) Department with a high emphasis on recruitment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

•Posts positions. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

•Processes payroll changes Forms for PTDC.

•Assists with coordinating training activities.

•Maintains general knowledge of employee policies and procedures.

•Places and receives telephone calls and records messages.

•Operates computers and other office equipment.

•Maintains consistent and punctual attendance.

•Keeps accurate and timely records and prepares reports regarding recruitment, interviews, and hires.

•Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications as needed.

•Implements new hire onboarding, orientation, and assists with employee recognition programs.

•Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

•Maintain personnel files in an organized manner.

•Order and distribution of employee uniforms.

•Manages employee referral program.

•Serves as a back up to the Sr. Accountant for Payroll functions including payroll processing and posting.

•Assists with employee benefits, collecting information and communication as directed by the HR Coordinator.

•Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

•Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

•Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

•High School diploma or general educational degree (GED) and at least two (2) years of general office work and/or training; basic computer skills to include a working knowledge of word processing and databases.

•At least two (2) years of human resource experience required.

•HR certification from an accredited institution/organization preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is almost continuously required to sit, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and continuously repeat the same hand, arm or finger motion many times as in typing. The employee will frequently interact with other staff members. Specific vision abilities required in this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, such as boxes of paper.
