Assists teams in the development of standard work (housekeeping, process, etc.); lead standard work to support/sustain improvements; and visual displays for use in Gemba walks and reflection discussions.

Works with plant leadership supporting and maintaining the Continuous Improvement plans and backlog.

Supports and coaches reflection meetings and Gemba walks.

Leverages the plants assigned MBB as a coach and mentor reviewing current activities, plans and next steps.

Other responsibilities include change management by serving as a coach and catalyst to develop a lean culture. The position is expected to spend 70% of time on problem solving events and workplace organization.

Some travel may be required.

Opportunity for Green Belt Certification will be available.

This position will report to the Engineering/Quality Manager. Key Competencies and Accountabilities: Leadership Responsible for two-way open communication throughout the plant for all CI efforts.

Candidate must be able to give and receive critical feedback based on direct observation and data.

Able to inspire, motivate, and spark others to take action. Must be a decisive team leader that is results-oriented. Must work effectively with a cross functional team and people over whom he/she has no authority. Teamwork Actively participates/collaborates with team members to enhance team's effectiveness. Must be able to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals. Builds cooperative relationships and ensures continuing development of their skills in this area. Decision Making/Problem Solving Follows lean plan-do-check-act and A3 methodologies among other lean tools. Gathers and analyzes information to formulate actions. Carefully weighs consequences of contemplated action. Meet with process owners and other that will be affected by the change to seek buy-in and direct input. Administrative & Organizational Skills Facilitates and/or leads kaizen process; both event-based and daily kaizen.

Goal oriented, persistent, and driven to achieve objectives.

Is skilled with Microsoft office tools and communicates well. Qualifications: Education: High School Degree or Equivalent preferred Training: Work with Process Improvement Manager Must commit to continued training and development Some travel is required Experience: Minimum of two years experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or distribution preferred Has participated in multiple problem solving events Required Skills: Change leadership and team management skills Strategic orientation Spoken communication Expert in lean methodologies Good time management and project management skills Self-management Proficiency in MS Office applications USG employees enjoy a number of benefit options for themselves and their families.
