Shipping & Receiving Manager Job Duties and Responsibilities

C.A.I., Inc is a leading manufacturer of flexographic and gravure printing inks and coatings for the packaging and printing industry. This position will involve working with a team of individuals dedicated to customer focus and manufacturing high quality products with a focus on accurate and on-time shipments.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish priorities on shipping, receiving, and stocking materials/products in the warehouse.
  • Manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
  • Track, trace, and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Maintains a clean work environment, which may include manual sweeping and cleanup of pallet debris, plastic wrap etc. as well as drive and maintain a floor washer.
  • Promptly unload trucks, sort received materials and stock in the warehouse.
  • Contact truck dispatchers to arrange for pickups.
  • Pick materials for shipment, load onto pallets, wrap pallets, & prepare shipping papers for outgoing trucks.
  • Coordinate loading of materials and products onto trucks. Ensure that paperwork is completed and signed. Proper copies of shipping papers are retained by company. Coordinate with driver that truck has proper hazmat placards.
  • Coordinate with Corporate EHS Director that product containers have proper hazmat labels and placards before shipment.
  • Maintain an accurate accounting of all daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately.
  • Engage with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
  • Coordinates with Logistics Manager on daily shipments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Shipping and Receiving Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Shipping & Receiving manager
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to delegate tasks to subordinates.
  • Strong sense of time organization, urgency, and attention to detail.
  • Forklift certification and/or the ability to successfully complete forklift recertification.
  • Physical stamina: must be able to repeatably lift 50+ pounds at a time
  • Familiar with common warehouse tools and equipment.
  • Ability to use a computer for data entry and printing.
  • ERP scan gun experience preferred and/or the ability to learn how to use one.
  • Receiving, stocking, sorting, and stacking.
  • Reliable transportation to work.
  • Comfortable working independently and within a team.
  • Makes safety a priority.

Work Hours & Benefits:

7:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. May require additional availability to work overtime.

Education and Licensing Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Class I Sit down electric & Class II Stand up narrow isle Forklift Certification.
