Portland, United States East Side Plating Full time

A plater is responsible for dipping the customer's parts in and out of tanks to plate various metal finishes onto the surface of the part.Responsibilities:Check and maintain the pH and temperature of various plating tanks at multiple points during the shiftKeep tank levels topped up to proper operating levels and the ensure that all plating equipment is clean and properly maintainedMove parts through various process steps according to work instructions and work order and adjust as needed to ensure customer requirements are metMake recommendations for improvements and may assist in designing and manufacturing racks, fixtures, and masking used in the plating processTrack and record work order information in computerFollow safety guidelines, achieve and maintain quality and productivity standards, maintain an acceptable dependability level, and must not pose risk to self or others.Qualifications:Ability to perform visual inspection on parts prior to plating to prevent potential quality issues Ability to perform visual and coating measurement thickness inspection on plated parts to ensure parts meet customer specificationsAbility to lift racks with parts up to 45 lbs. in and out of tanks repeatedly throughout the shiftAble to maintain endurance while standing and moving throughout your shift while carrying racks of partsAbility to work around various chemicals in an industrial settingMust be able to read, write, and communicate in English with a demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions, multi-task and work well with othersAbility to work in a fast paced team environment and receive direction from othersPreferred Qualifications:Previous experience working with, and inspecting cosmetic surfacesShift: Day Shift: Mon - Fri, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (with occasional OT as needed)Wage: $24 per hour to startEast Side Plating offers a competitive wage with opportunities for increases in 6 months, medical, and dental coverage, as well as PTO, paid holidays and a 401K plan.
