**Department: Operations**

**Job Summary**:

Delivery of ready mix concrete and other associated products to construction job sites. As a Ready Mix Driver, this candidate will deliver concrete to job sites following safety and operational guidelines: check concrete for quality and size per ticket and maintain courteous customer relations.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

* Pre-trip inspections of ready mix truck pursuant to DOT regulations. Pre-trip inspection includes checking fluid levels of engine oil, antifreeze, tire pressure, brakes and other driver operated controls for loading and unloading ready mix wash out stations.

* Fills water tank before each delivery after checking that all valves are shut.

* Upon receiving delivery ticket, driver backs truck under plant and charges mixer to receive concrete, making sure to take any admixtures or other ancillary products that are on ticket.

* Uses map book and experience and takes most direct route to job site to ensure on time delivery.

* Safety drives truck to jobsite an arrives with the required slump.

* Upon arriving on job site the driver must be able to safely access job and maneuver truck in often very unstable ground conditions. Safe operations of customers equipment and conditions.

* Driver will add necessary ingredients such as fibers, chemical, foam admixtures, cements or integral colors at plant or job site, as well as other products.

* Pursuant to customer needs, driver will place chutes from fender or hanging rack onto the main chute at the rear of truck for discharge, driver will wash the chutes in washout system or other appropriate location as directed by contractor and put back in appropriate location on truck.

* Prior to leaving jobsite, driver is responsible for completing all paperwork and collection of moneys if necessary.

* Upon completion of each shift, driver will wash truck with hose and brush, including the use of cleaning solution when necessary.

* Communicates with dispatch through the use of a two-way radio.

* At the end of the delivery all paperwork including cash must be turned in.

* Ready Mix driver is responsible to check schedule each day for start time.

* Each driver is expected to perform a post-trip inspection of truck pursuant to DOT regulations.

* Must help coworkers and be a team player.

* Any and all duties assigned

**Certificates, License, Registration**

* Valid Department of Transportation Certified Commercial Drivers license Class B. Clean MVR record.

* Ability to pass Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical. Maintain driving record in accordance with FSMCA regulations and meet company policy requirements, including medical DOT card.

* Must be able to follow directions, instructions and guidance from management.

* Ability to handle cash and make change.

* Ability to deal with customers and other employees in diplomatic manner, in a variety of stressful situations.

* Must safety operate truck and perform tasks that are congruent with company policy, and within state and federal laws.

**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**LANGUAGE SKILLS:** Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

**REASONING ABILITY**: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**: This job requires standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and talking or hearing for less than 1/3 of the workday and sitting for over 2/3 of the workday. This job requires lifting up to 50 pounds for less than 1/3 of the workday. This job requires close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), and depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**: This job requires working in high, precarious places and outdoor weather conditions for less than 1/3 of the workday and with vibration for 1/3 to 2/3 of the workday. This job requires working in a moderate noise environment.
