Provide high-paced iOS software development for both internal and external projects where strong verbal and written communications skills are necessary. External projects will integrate our products and services with outside entities (vendors, clients, and other third parties). Most projects will utilize strong organizational skills along with payroll, accounting, or benefit industry knowledge. This position will also serve as a subject-matter expert for iOS technologies and development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and development of a wide range of iOS software applications for new and existing high-availability applications.
Acting as a subject-matter expert for iOS technologies and development
Collaborating with a range of development teams for completion of iOS projects
Overseeing entire SDLC from planning, design, development, integration, and implementation of iOS applications.
Expand and develop existing architectural and framework Paycom software upon which all existing and future basic software development depends
Author software that develops and enhances business module-level architectural components for future state consideration and technological shifts
Participate in module-level framework discussions with Framework Committee as needed
Participate in broad Paycom-wide software discussions with the Tools Committee as needed
Perform software development of variety of projects ranging from industry-wide services to client-specific reports resulting in EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and other interfacing technologies.
Autonomously author architectural-level software components for product modules such as Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Time Management, Human Resources, Talent Management, and Reports
Author expert-level system and module integrations between Human Capital Management (HCM) modules leveraging application programming interfaces (APIs), electronic data interchanges (EDIs), extract transform and load (ETL)
Autonomously author development code and reports that are customized to clients as needed
Autonomously author development code and reports that are customized to Paycom departments as needed
After testing, review code completed by lower-level developers to identify flaws and determine necessary revisions to correct deficiencies.
Guide the work of lower-level technology professionals such as developers, quality assurance.
Guide team of developer colleagues to enhance product by collaborating ideas
Lead work with colleagues in quality assurance to ensure that codes and data are accurate
Collaborate with Application Support team to ensure that software meets requirements for smooth deployment as needed
Organize communiqus with outside entities (vendors and third parties) as though they are teammates in any project as needed
Utilize YouTrack and/or Jira to track communication about development specs, development, testing, and fixes
Participate in team and project meetings to collaborate concepts and designs to further colleagues skills and modules specs
Organize project effort with non-technical professionals such as customer support, clients, and vendors on software projects of all sizes.
Lead tracked discussions in YouTrack and/or Jira
Collaborate with product managers on the clarification of specifications as needed
Collaborate with customer support to gather feedback on client needs and suggestions as needed
Organize meetings with clients on the clarification and testing of report and EDI data
Adhere to the organizational processes and the tracking of project metrics and project statuses.
Utilize YouTrack and/or Jira to track time usage on projects and meetings
Maintain communication with application support and quality assurance to evaluate stages in projects
Participate in daily standup meetings
Manage project communications with client/vendor, being primary project contact for some projects as needed.
Manage communication with clients vendors to ensure satisfaction and eliminate ambiguity in client needs as needed
Act as a liaison for clients and coordinate their points of contact for their needs on development with 3rd parties as needed

Technologies Used:

Heavy usage:
Swift, UIKit, networking with URLSession or Alamofire; Realm experience is a plus

Education/Certification:

A Bachelors degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering, or related degree; Similar education combinations may be considered for Bachelors degree holders outside of the listed majors.
2+ years of applicable experience

OR

Masters Degree in Computer Science, Management Information System, Engineering or related area
1+ year of applicable experience

Experience:

2+ years of native iOS development experience and have built large-scale, high-availability iOS applications
Must have education, training, or experience in one or more of object-oriented programming, business intelligence tools, or mobile application development
Professional experience in software development reflecting ability to monitor, guide, and advise both team and non-team resources
Demonstrable multi-programming language experience using at least 3 software development languages in Paycom technology stack
Ideal candidate will understand the mobile world, both current state and future state

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

A portfolio of apps published in the Apple App Store

Skills/Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of iOS 11 current version with strong knowledge of upcoming beta OS versions
Knowledge of Web views, cookie management, session handling, etc.
Knowledge of Google Firebase
Experience in iOS Networking using Swift
Intermediate/Advanced skills using Xcode
Knowledge of iOS dependency management
Well-versed with Apple Human Interface Guidelines (HIG)
Experience with local data storage such as Realm is a plus
Proficiency in SQL programming and/or database experience and the ability to integrate multiple databases
Strong communication and organizational skills with strong attention to both detail and process
Demonstrated skills with project management tools and methodologies, software development lifecycle, and problem solving
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and ability to meet stated customer-initiated deadlines
