Job Title: Software Engineer

Canonical is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our developer experience team, you will play a crucial role in designing and maintaining specialist Python tools to support the developer build and publication process.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled engineer with expertise in Python, a strong understanding of modern GNU/Linux distributions, and experience working with container technology such as Docker, Kubernetes, and LXD. You will work closely with our team to extend the snap build ecosystem, leveraging your familiarity with languages, toolchains, frameworks, integrations, and CI systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain specialist Python tools to support the developer build and publication process.
  • Work with our team to extend the snap build ecosystem, leveraging your expertise in Python and container technology.
  • Collaborate with external open source and commercial projects to understand how we can better serve community needs.
