Job Description Serve as the Lead Defense Travel Administrator (LDTA) “Super User”, provide advice, assistance, and guidance covering a wide variety of travel-related financial program requirements. Stays abreast of current DTS regulations, policies and procedures, and the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR). Manage the integrity of travel program requirements for all military and civilian temporary duty travelers. Provide guidance and customer service for the Travel Program to aid travelers. Perform as a Debt Management Monitor (DMM), which oversees Defense Travel System (DTS) debt collection process. Work with DFAS to ensure prompt collection or intercedes on the traveler’s behalf to ensure that appropriate action is taken, or to obtain clarification of traveler questions related to repayment. Provide advice and guidance to Command elements on resource management issues related to travel and government travel card. Train subordinates on the use of Travel Charge Cards and DTS payment mechanisms (electronic funds transfers, scheduled partial payments, advances and split disbursements). Advise on card misuse or abuse to the appropriate supervisor or manager. Brief staff on new or updated Defense Travel System (DTS) and Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) policies and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).
