Essential Duties: + Responsible for optimizing purchasing volumes utilizing MRP system. + Maintain tracking and communications on order volumes and delivery schedules from suppliers. + Prioritize the management of inventory and expiration of materials in warehouse. + Negotiate contracts with local/specific suppliers (price, lead -time, inventory programs, etc.) + Work with Quality Control on supplier quality and quality audits. + Develop internal relationship and work closely with SCM to manage purchasing of raw materials and delivery dates. Essential Qualifications: + 3-5 years of experience in SCM or Procurement, managing raw material purchasing + Experience in working with international teams. + Excellent computer skills (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) + BS Degree in Business or Engineering Preferred Qualifications: Japanese language skill preferred **Preferred Certification(s):** APICS, CPM certification preferred. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements: + To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employee’s, wearing PPE is a requirement for some roles at PENA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Panasonic's role at the Gigafactory is to manufacture and supply cylindrical lithium-ion cells to Tesla for their electric vehicles and energy storage systems.
