Job Description:Client: Multi-National Construction CompanyRole: Associate Electrical EngineerThe role can be based in San Diego, Los Angeles or San Francisco. It requires a California PE status (or other state if you can convert) and at least 15 years of experience in the industry.An Associate Electrical Engineer will have the opportunity to apply their technical knowledge of building services systems across a portfolio of ground-breaking projects in the US and globally. Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential with our client and in turn, they offer unrivaled career, project, and development opportunities.Relocation assistance is available.Responsibilities will include working as a key part of the team, your activities will be varied, but likely to include:Work closely with clients, architects, and other company engineers and/or design team members as part of a dedicated and skilled teamProduce coordinated detailed design drawings, electronic models, specifications, written reports, site observation reports, schedules etc. on a variety of projects within the electrical discipline, as well as the coordination with utility companies and obtaining the necessary electrical permit approvals from Plan CheckOrganize technical and financial proposals for new workManage workload of Project Discipline Engineers and Technicians (including verification of quality).Take responsibility for concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detailed designPrepare Technical SpecificationsMonitor financial performance of jobsKeep senior staff informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achievedMentor junior Electrical EngineersContinually ensure practices, policies, strategy, and services represent the client's best interests and that company policy is in keeping with current legislation and the relevant building codes for the relevant state etcPlan, organize and manage personal workload to meet deadlines in line with client commitmentsProactively raise concerns regarding workload and ability to meet deadlinesMaintain an overview of the project team workload and commitments to successfully meet deadlines and balance resource utilizationActively contribute towards delivering profitable projects in the context of project financesMonitor financial performance of jobs, with the setting up and managing of job/project administrative systems, including planning and monitoring job resourcing/expenditure (adjusting these as necessary).Requirements: The successful candidate for this position should have the following requirements:8 - 15 years experience in electrical engineering design in the building services and construction industryMUST have experience doing electrical engineering work in California Experience working on projects in the following sectors is required: Higher Education, Museums, Commercial, Transportation Hubs and/or StadiumsRelevant bachelor's or master's degreeProfessional Engineer (P.E.) desirableLEED AP accredited preferredExperience using RevitFamiliarity using computational analysis tools such as electrical fault analysis and lighting design softwareAbility to accept a high degree of responsibility in a team-based organization, combined with ability to work independentlyExcellent technical knowledge of electrical systems; ability to investigate, identify, and provide solutions to technical problemsExcellent client-facing and communication skills (verbal and written), with experience presenting (will often be required to present solutions directly to 'c-suite' level stakeholders)Experience in the preparation of technical reports for delivery directly to a client audienceAbility to problem solve and propose multiple solutions to Clients and objectively summarize the benefits and shortfalls of eachThe company offers competitive compensation with qualifications and experience, year-end bonus, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:Hybrid working and summer hours workingMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance with 80% company-paid premiums.Reimbursement and support for tuition, continuing education, and professional development.Vacation and sick time, parental leave, and generous PTO401(k) with matchGlobal network of experts to mentor and develop youGenerous learning and development opportunitiesThe firm is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment that encourages professional growth and advancement.
