Speech Language Pathologist

Fast-paced, high volume Outpatient Rehab department is looking for top skilled Speech Language Pathologist.Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Frisco, 12400 N Dallas Parkway, Frisco TX 75033.

Work hours:PRN - As Needed; Day Shifts; Weekday and Weekend availability required - 8:00am - 5:00pm

Speech Language Pathologist Outpatient Rehab Department Highlights:

Here's What You Need
  • Master's Degree Speech Language Pathology required
  • Other Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Required
  • SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Required upon hire
  • SLP-I - Speech Language Pathology Intern Texas Speech Language Pathology Required upon hire
  • SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License preferred upon hire and
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support Required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • NICU experience highly preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English; Problem solving ability; Ability to teach others; Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills
What You Will Do

Speech Language Pathologist are responsible for the assessment of patients, assessments to determine patient's and family's level of functioning to implement effective treatment, and to plan appropriate discharge disposition.

Performs age appropriate patient treatment
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
  • Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.
  • Performs/delegates technical procedures appropriately and safely.
  • Utilizes a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary.
  • Determines patient response to treatment and evaluates progress (reassessment).
  • Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
  • Maintains patient safety throughout treatment.
  • Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues.
  • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
  • Motivates non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy.
