SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading the Bergen North Market. Provide oversight, guidance and coaching, and coordinate the sales activities of the branches. Ensure that the overall branch operations run within established guidelines. Act as a senior leader within the Retail Bank team and partner with other Areas of the Bank to support deployment of overall strategy, initiatives, policies and procedures. Analyze the efficiency of the branches and ensure productivity and service standards are met. Exercises the usual authority of a manager concerning salary adjustments, performance appraisal, career advancement and disciplinary issues. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for a defined set of branches within the network and managing of the branch teams. Facilitate the effectiveness of branches and branch staff by analyzing performance data, developing action plans with Branch Managers to drive sales plans and address performance gaps. Ensure effective execution of bank strategy, communicate and manage performance expectations, and ensure all operational and policy guidelines are adhered to within the branch. Support De Novo activities and branch identification within established Markets. Deploy key retail initiatives as outlined in the Bank Business Strategy Plan and take active leadership roles in key projects to ensure successful implementation. Provides leadership, coaching, and supervision of branch teams. Deploy consistent sales process and sales playbook with continuous coaching for improvement. Attains bank goals through active participation in the sales management process. Works with Branch Managers, Partners, and Head of Retail Banking to analyze client and market data to identify potential sales and services opportunities. Coaches Branch Managers and their teams to leverage lead generation techniques (e.g., referrals, community outreach). Integrate, prioritize and manage promotional campaigns across segment and product lines. Evaluates the performance of Branch Managers. Oversees completion of annual performance evaluations for all personnel within the market. Proactively sources and identifies talent in the Market. Develops high potential employees to build bench strength. Participates in the interview and recruitment process of employees. Oversees all performance management issues and works directly with the Human Resources Department to effectively navigate through all employee relations issues. Participates in Business Calls to develop new relationships and relationship manage most profitable clients within the market. Develop disciplined collaboration routines with key partners to facilitate deeper wallet share with our customers. Develop set of COIs within the Market to identify new business opportunities. Engages in community and build high presence as a market leader to increase the Bank's visibility and to enhance new and existing business opportunities. Assist Branch Managers with the support of significant community events in their marketing area. Embed the principles behind the compensation program to ensure the motivation of the right behaviors and the delivery of the business results. Ensure that the execution of all programs recognizes, rewards, and reinforces outstanding employee performance and customer satisfaction. Review all relative reports to ensure integrity, operational excellence, and to mitigate loss to the bank. Guide, approve, and authorize actions as required and needed in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures. Performs other job related duties as may be assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree preferred; 10+ years experience in the banking/financial services industry sales space in a management/ leadership role with proven track record managing/leading a large sales team, preferably in the banking/financial services industry, contributing to strong, consistent organizational growth; Demonstrated capacity to meet and exceed regional sales goals and create and lead the implementation of a high performing client delivery team that drives business results; Proven ability to manage and develop affluent and commercial client relationships; Influencing skills and proven ability to build strong collaboration routines with partners; Strong commitment to team coaching and development; Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and to handle multiple priorities under time constraints; Proven retail bank product knowledge for services to all types of client demographics, including retail, consumer lending and wealth management accounts; In depth knowledge of the competitive banking landscape; Strong interpersonal, sales and relationship management skills; Experience in attracting, managing, developing and retaining a highly competent and committed group of retail staff; High-energy, result-oriented and works well in a decentralized environment; History of community involvement through volunteerism and/or representation with charitable organizations; Excellent organizational, follow-up and time management skills.
