The Manager of Assurance handles the operational management of each audit engagement. The Manager of Assurance takes an active role in staff management, including the development and coaching of Assurance staff and seniors.

A day in the life of this position may include:

  • Provide professional services including financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedures.
  • Apply understanding of broad business & technical (US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) & GAAS) knowledge.
  • Prepare written recommendations to client management to improve reporting processes and business management.
  • Assist in identifying process issues and developing solutions.
  • Identify internal control weaknesses and communicate such weaknesses to management via management letter comments.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of complex accounting/ auditing concepts and apply them to client situations.
  • Identify key internal controls to determine the nature, extent, and timing of audit procedures.
  • Generate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, including footnote disclosures.
  • Manage engagement economics and coordinate the timing and logistics of client engagements
  • Interact directly with Partners on all matters related to client and engagement management
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with key personnel and assess clients' satisfaction.
  • Responsible for supervision and review of staff performance.
  • Foster efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Supervise and train staff members during engagements.
  • Schedule audit personnel for assignments throughout the year.
  • Develop and deliver firm continuing education programs.
  • Develop new business for audit practice.
What you bring:
  • 5-10 years audit experience in public accounting
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Experience in PCAOB/SEC is required
  • Preferably proficiency in multiple industries, including construction, real estate, distribution, retail, professional services, leasing, hospitality, healthcare, publishing, and not-for-profit
  • Industry experience in real estate, retail, professional services, auto dealers, software and technology, and other commercial clients is a plus
