Calibration Technician I or II

Eravant is looking for a Calibration Technician I or II to conduct day-to-day operations of calibrating company test equipment and inspect products for cosmetic, mechanical, and electrical nonconformance for incoming or final QA/QC. The role will be onsite for our own Eravant equipment.

General Daily Tasks:

  • Open GMail and Google Chat for manager communication regarding ay urgent tasks. This may include prioritizing certain calibrations and work orders above others and completing calibration or inspection immediately.
  • Check Netsuite dashboard for daily completed work orders ready for QA inspection and your calibration dashboard to review needed calibrations.
  • Conduct routine or requested measurement calibration of test equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, RF Power Sensors, Noise Figure Analyzers, RF Power Meters, Synthesizers, and VNA Frequency Extenders.
  • QA Inspection for cosmetic, mechanical , and electrical standards for millimeter wave products. This may include accurate labels, correct waveguide, correct dimensions, and test data for various series of parts. Please visit our website www.eravant.com to view our product offerings.
  • Test millimeter wave passive components for inspections.
  • Use of basic inspection tools such as, but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, drop indicators, and gauge pins.
Additional Responsibilities and Functions Outside of the Day-to-Day:
  • Assist in set up and maintenance of RF Millimeter Wave test equipment.
  • Perform system calibrations on schedule.
  • Assist in developing or refining existing calibration procedures through execution and providing feedback with an eye towards quality and efficiency.
  • Assist in troubleshooting when equipment is out-of-tolerance and perform necessary corrective actions.
  • Assist in preparing test equipment for subcontracted calibration.
  • Prepare calibration reports and certificates.
  • Maintain calibration standards.
Qualifications

Required Skills:
  • General experience in millimeter wave and/or RF Calibration/Metrology
  • Very comfortable using Excel and have used it prior for basic plotting and formulas
  • Can demonstrate Algebra level math skills
  • Experienced in parts handling for millimeter wave components and/or test equipment ensuring parts remain in good quality.
  • Enjoys doing QA inspections for incoming/outgoing products between calibration work
  • Willing to work with managers to update and provide feedback on developed or developing processes
Nice to Have or Willing to Learn:
  • Experience working under ISO9001, AS9100, and/or ISO/IEC 17025 management systems
  • Experience performing measurements at frequencies up to or above 110 GHz
  • Experience in a Quality type of role
  • Experience operating and/or calibrating the following types of test equipment:


Compensation

Logistics

The Calibration Technician will report to the Quality Assistant Manager at our 60,000 sq foot facility located at 501 Amapola Avenue, Torrance, CA 90501.

Expected start date is immediately, but we are happy to agree on a reasonable delayed start date.

This is a non-exempt, full-time employment with a schedule of Mon-Fri 9AM to 6PM. Half hour lunches are approved for a 9Am to 5:30PM schedule.
