Description

The Carlstar Division of Titan International seeks a Bilingual (Mandarin) Buyer Planner to join our supply chain group based out of the Franklin, TN, office. This role reports to the vice president of operational excellence and is responsible for efficiently sourcing and procuring materials, goods, and services while optimizing inventory levels to ensure smooth production and meet customer demands.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who possesses a demonstrated keen understanding of supply chain dynamics. This includes managing weekly MRP signals, issuing purchase orders, and expediting product receipts to promised delivery dates.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ensures timely procurement of goods and services to meet production and customer requirements.
  • Analyzes inventory levels and demand forecasts to determine optimal stock levels.
  • Implements inventory control strategies to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Monitors inventory turnover rates and adjusts as necessary.
  • Places Purchase Orders (PO) and promptly obtains PO acknowledgments from suppliers, including any COA documents upon receipt, per incoming product quality requirements.
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product, container requirements, price, availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Evaluates supplier performance against key metrics such as on-time delivery and quality.
  • Works with suppliers to address any performance issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborates with sales, production, planning, and marketing teams to develop and understand demand forecasts.
  • Utilizes data analytics tools to track and analyze supply performance and demand accuracy, including the ability to interpret data and prepare regular reports on procurement, inventory, and demand planning metrics to provide valuable insights for continuous improvement and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).
Qualifications

Experience and Skills:
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management with expertise in procurement and planning
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical and problem-solving skills, including contract negotiation.
  • Demonstrated ability to aggregate large amounts of data into concise presentations to drive business decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating at multiple levels of an organization, and effectively organizing work to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel, SQL, or similar tools, and prior experience in procurement and inventory ERP software; experience with JD Ewards E1 a plus.
