Accounting Director

Summary:

Bonhomme Presbyterian Church is seeking a Christ-loving professional with passion and skills in accounting to ensure we steward God’s resources with integrity and aligned with the mission God has entrusted to us.

Location:

Chesterfield, MO

Compensation:

$55-60,000 annually (depending on experience) plus benefits (PTO, health, etc)

Hours:

5 days per week. 40 hours during normal business hours.Reports to the Lead Pastor.

The Role:

· Responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of all financial matters of the church as well as maintaining controls require to ensure the integrity of financial activity and contracts including, but not limited to: bank accounts, loans investments, notes receivable, budget and finance policies

· Perform all financial operations of the church (budgets, purchasing, accounts payable, contributions, banking, accounting records, monthly financial statements and payroll)

· Prepare and distribute monthly budget and finance reports to each ministry

· Attend and lead Budget and Finance meetings and Stewardship meetings

· Work with external CPA to annually review financial records, policies and procedures

· Provide financial oversight to Preschool, Old Stone Church

· Manage wills, bequests, stock transfers and/or other similar gifts

· Oversee the execution of contracts and bids according to policies

· Review and negotiate insurance program for property and employees with appropriate church representatives

· Provide advice and recommendations to maintain financial integrity and alignment with the mission of the church

· Has the right balance of “get it done” and “that can wait”

· Must be a CPA. Experience preferred.

We have excellent worship that is expressed through traditional/liturgical services as well as a modern worship service. There is also a high value around discipleship and education with nearly half of our Sunday attendance participating in Sunday classes.

Our current accountant has served faithfully for 10 years and is retiring this Summer. We hope to provide transitional overlap in this position to ensure an excellent handoff
