Job Description

Location Profile:

Position Summary:

The Quality Supervisor plans, coordinates, and directs the quality assurance teams to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards. Directly supervises employees in the Quality Assurance Department in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, onboarding, developing, and training employees, creating a successful cross-trained team; managing employee schedules for both first and second shift teams, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to inspect complex machine parts.
  • Formulate and maintain quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • Interprets quality assurance philosophy to key personnel in organization.
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Decides whether to accept a product or continue business with a vendor based on a review by the quality assurance engineer.
  • Reviews all data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
  • Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
  • Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities to include performance evaluations.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  • Plays an active role on quality management teams within the organization.
  • Designs and implements quality assurance training programs for key personnel in conjunction with managers.
  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.

Required Experience:

  • 3 years of Supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in aerospace/fastener/metals manufacturing industries, with strong knowledge of all fastener materials preferred.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems.

Level of Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $85,300 to $127,900 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan. This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
