Description

Job Title: Information Technology - Student Intern

Department:Administration

Reports To:Director of Information Technology or designee

FLSA Status:Non-exempt

General Purpose of the Job: Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology the Information Technology - Student Intern position is responsible for partnering with IT staff to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The IT Student Intern participates in special projects related to administrative customer support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific Duties:
  1. Provides administrative support to the Information Technology team implementing help desk support to all related NCIA departments.
  2. Evaluates, researches and participates in NCIA's Information Technology department projects as instructed providing individual perspective and value-added contributions within the team.
  3. Incorporate existing information and include best practices when appropriate to enhance team experience.
General Duties:
  1. Partners with Information Technology team as assigned.
  2. Provides customer service to internal and external customers with judgment and tact.
  3. Contributes to a work atmosphere in a manner which is positive, enthusiastic, respectful and courteous.
  4. Displays the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with internal and external customers.
  5. Attends work regularly according to Agency policy.
  6. Works cooperatively with others including all staff, supervisors, administrators, co-workers, people-served, community professionals, customers, vendors and the public.
  7. Assumes other duties, responsibilities and special projects as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Education and/or Experience:
  • Participation in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university in a field related to Information Technology or course work or professional training in the area of Computer Science.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel,
  • Proficient using email software: Microsoft Outlook
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
  • Knowledge of Information Systems software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Office 365, OneDrive, MS Teams, SharePoint, G-Suite, etc.
  • Active Listening Gives full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Speaking Talks to others to convey information effectively.
  • Reading Comprehension understands written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents including technical documentation and specifications.
