Job Description Summary

The Supply Chain Manager works on site in Monmouth, Illinois. It is not a remote role.

Reporting to the Vice President, Operations and Supply Chain, the Procurement and Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for procuring goods and services at competitive prices and ensuring timely delivery to meet the needs of the organization. The Manager will work closely with suppliers and other internal departments to ensure that the company's needs are met efficiently and effectively. The Manager will display a high level of leadership and build an exceptional workforce using Marmon Food Service Vision and Values as the primary tool.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate and select potential suppliers based on price, quality, delivery times, and overall value to the organization.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including price, delivery, payment terms, and quality standards.
  • Manage the purchase order process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
  • Lead a team of supply chain associates that perform on-floor support for the various manufacturing processes in the plant.
  • Conduct the Cycle Counting and inventory accuracy process and ensure that all items are received.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with internal departments to identify purchasing needs and ensure that they are met on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and other key stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends and pricing.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field and 5 years' experience in procurement or supply chain OR 9 years' relevant experience.
  • Two years' experience leading, mentoring, and developing teams
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with procurement software.
  • Understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Previous experience in a warehouse/distribution center or manufacturing environment
    • Prior experience with ERP systems or ERP implementation
