SUMMARY

The Payroll Accountant will process all aspects of international and US payroll (including but not limited to: Australia, UK, Canada, New Zealand, and US) as well as help with compliance and aspects of payroll accounting. The ideal candidate must possess excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to think analytically. The candidate will also have excellent attention to detail and an eye for accuracy in all facets of their performance. The candidate will have a demonstrated ability to manage oneself, take ownership, and prioritize responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the closing out of payroll by resolving timecard exceptions and time off approvals.
  • Review new hire/terminated/leave/promotion updates in ADP or other payroll systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Process semi-monthly payroll for US & Canada in ADP.
  • Process monthly payroll for New Zealand and UK.
  • Process weekly payroll for Australia.
  • Set up new states in payroll system when added for taxation.
  • Help to review/report on benefit bills against payroll deductions.
  • Reconcile and fund 401K/HSA/FSA tax and pension payments.
  • Validate compliance in PTO and tax reporting.
  • Complete other reporting, payroll tax, and audit requests as needed.
  • Record cash transactions, benefit bill department breakout, and core payroll entries in NetSuite ERP.
  • Record GL accruals for payroll and benefits.
  • Reconcile assigned GL accounts as part of month-end closing process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years+ accounting experience required.
  • Detailed oriented and organized.
  • Proficient in Windows, File Explorer, and Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced Excel skills (advanced filtering, xlookup, pivot tables).
  • Proven experience working in a team under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Trustworthiness and high level of confidentiality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • US Payroll processing in ADP, Rippling or similar.
  • International payroll experience.
  • 2 years+ payroll experience.

METRICS THAT MATTER:

  • Regular and predictive attendance.
  • Process payrolls timely to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assigned responsibilities by deadlines.
  • Maintain accuracy for processing payroll within a $10 margin of error.
