The Jr. Accountant will support the Accounting Manager in month-end closing process for the corporate office, including preparing and posting journal entries.
This position is based in St. Louis, MO and is hybrid in the office 3 days a week.
Responsibilities:
* Involved in month-end closing process for the corporate office, including preparing and posting journal entries.
* Analysis of corporate general ledger.
* Perform monthly reconciliations.
* Communicate with various corporate departments and Regional Controllers regarding general ledger transactions.
* Participate in the annual corporate budget process.
* Document corporate accounting procedures as needed.
* Assist with special projects as directed by Supervisor.
* Complete Census reporting forms as received.
* Prepare and gather data for the external and internal auditors to complete audits.
Requirements
* High School diploma or GED equivalent required
* BS in Accounting or Business with an emphasis in Accounting required
* Minimum - 0-3 years' experience
* Extensive knowledge of Excel and Word
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Possess ability to work independently and as a team player
* Must be accurate and detailed oriented
* Excellent customer service skills
* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
* Experience with AS400 systems a plus
