Accounting Manager for growing Company in Little Rock

The Accounting Manager will oversee a range of accounting activities, including financial and cost accounting, purchasing, accounts payable, and financial reporting. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and are adept at managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines effectively is crucial. Essential Functions Statement

  • Manages Finances work through coordination of efforts and expectations based on company goals.
  • Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
  • Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, payables, payroll, and budget preparation.
  • Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
  • Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Oversees the timely production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
  • Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
  • Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Leads the monthly close cycle which includes oversight of journal entry preparation, balance sheet reconciliation, financial reporting and analysis.
  • Communicates appropriate and accurate financial results and analysis to leadership team.
  • Acts a business partner with department leaders on their financial results and planning needs.
  • Other special projects as required

Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.

Experience: 10 years in a finance or accounting role in a management position
