Position Summary:

Are you ready to elevate your career in customer service? As a Level 3 SBO Customer Service Associate at MaineHealth, you'll be the friendly, caring, and professional face of our brand. You'll bring your solid understanding of medical billing and revenue cycle processes to help patients, guarantors, and other stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

  • Answer incoming calls from patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare providers.
  • Process payments accurately using online modules and payment devices.
  • Research and resolve billing issues using digital tools and established workflows.
  • Assist with patient correspondence and voicemails.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively with your team, demonstrating flexibility and cooperation.
  • Continue learning and mastering intermediate self-pay functions and special projects.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) - "What you will need":

  • Education: High School graduate or GED/HiSET preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years in a healthcare field and 2+ years in a healthcare call center.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet resources.
    • Strong customer service skills, including handling escalated calls and difficult issues.
    • Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
    • Emotional Intelligence tools for effective communication.
      • Specialized Knowledge:
        • Medical billing terminology, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10.
        • Hospital, Provider Based, Critical Access, or Rural Health billing comprehension.
        • HIPAA comprehension and compliance.
        • Robust analytical skills for identifying and resolving account issues.
