Description: As part of the Grants Management Team of the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology (DRAI) and the Center for Immunology and Inflammatory Diseases (CIID) and under the direction of the Research Administrative Manager, the Grant Administrator is responsible for the Pre and Post award grant and contract administration (NIH, Industrial and Foundation grants, Contracts and Service Agreements). Provide guidance and support to a wide variety of investigators regarding budget preparation and all aspects of pre and post award policies and procedures. The Grant Administrator develops and monitors all financial aspects and sponsor requirements of complex awards, including international subcontracts. Primary duties include compliance, budget development, proposal submission, oversight and maintenance, report generation to sponsors and Divisional leadership, and daily administrative and operational requirements for a financial portfolio for principal investigators. The Grant Administrator is responsible for the 1) Application/Pre-award functions and fiscal management/Post-award of the research portfolio of the Division, 2) Operations and regulatory research oversight and 3) interfacing with the Central Research Management Office. Pre-Award · Assist with the preparation of research proposals, awards and transactions related to grant/contract management. · Prepare budgets and budget justifications; ensure proposal compliance with Hospital and grantor policies and procedures, as well as those of subcontracting institutions. · Serve as liaison to subcontracting institutions. · Maintain updated other support pages in shared electronic files for proposal and JIT requests. · Monitor proposal compliance issues working closely with Partners Research Management Pre Award contact, investigators and Division Chief. Post-Award · Assist Investigators with publications compliance in accordance with the NIH Public Access policy. · Maintain timely coordination and communication with involved parties regarding grants management issues. Serve as liaison between DRAI/CIID, PIs and internal and external groups to manage programs and funds. · Ensure financial integrity of the lab(s) with accurate and timely accounts reconciliation and approve travel vouchers, invoices, procurements, reimbursements to employees, credit card activities with proper justification. · Meets regularly with Principal Investigators to review funding portfolio. · Prepare cost transfers, just in time requests, continuation for future award years and maintain electronic file of updated biosketches, other support pages for proposal submission. General · Maintain current working knowledge of Federal and Private sponsor regulations as well as institutional guidelines pertaining to research management. · Assist in education and training of staff and researchers regarding sponsored research applications and financial management of grants. · Assume additional responsibilities as assigned supporting the life cycle of awards, contracts and unrestricted sources. · Assist faculty members with expenses reimbursements, check requests, and Supply Chain issues. · Use and mentor others on Partners research applications as needed for daily workflow (e.g. PeopleSoft, Insight, Microstrategy). The Grant Administrator position offers flexibility and can accommodate on site or hybrid work.Qualifications: Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree required · 3 years of directly related experience preferred · Should possess the ability to thrive in a high-volume and deadline driven team environment that requires coordination of multiple activities and the judgment and flexibility to reprioritize tasks as needed · Working knowledge of program administration guidelines of Federal and non-Federal funding agencies supporting the DRAI/CIID research enterprise · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite · Excellent problem solving skills · Excellent organizational and communication skills with a focus on customer service · Ability to manage high volume and complex transactions · Extraordinary attention to detail · Strong analytical, computer and financial skills · Outstanding organizational and project management skills · Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information EEO Statement Massachusetts General Hospital is an Affirmative Action Employer.
