Our client, a prominent freight forwarding company, is seeking a skilled Ocean Import Coordinator to join their team in Atlanta, GA. As an Ocean Import Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing ocean import shipments, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage ocean import shipments from start to finish
  • Prepare and process import documentation, including customs entries, invoices, and clearance paperwork
  • Ensure compliance with import regulations and requirements
  • Communicate with carriers, vendors, and customers to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Provide regular updates on shipment status to both customers and internal teams
  • Handle the entire process from start to finish, including customs entry
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize import processes and improve efficiency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in ocean import coordination, preferably in a freight forwarding environment
  • Strong knowledge of import regulations and documentation requirements
  • Experience with customs entries is required
  • Air import experience is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and import documentation software
  • Familiarity with ocean carriers and their rates
  • CargoWise experience is an advantage
  • Hazmat certification or experience preferred
