Quality Engineering Supervisor

Responsible for the direct Supervision of the Quality Engineering Department and the ensuring the continued effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS), writing, and implementing new procedures and processes to support the continued development of the QMS. Provide guidance and direction to the engineering team, training and champion the Quality Management System. Work on many phases or sub-tasks of projects or entire projects of moderate complexity, with results impacting on project completion.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with overseeing effective implementation of the Quality Management System throughout the company, including any business accreditations.
Perform QMS Gap Analysis in preparation for Customer and 3rd party audits.
QMS Project planning and Implementation.
Maintain the Quality Manuals and Quality Procedures and ensure contents are appropriate for business.
Plan Standard Operating practices required under the overriding Quality procedures.
Plan and Maintain the Standard Operating Procedure content and coordinate the issuing of these documents.
Assist with training of quality awareness.
Host Internal/External Quality Audits and communicate Audit results throughout the organization.
Monitoring, measuring, and reporting of Internal Audits, Corrective Actions, Customer Returns & Nonconforming product.
Perform and monitor departmental PFMEA activities.
Analyze current and future procedural needs of the business.
Provide training on Quality issues and business processes.
Undertake special projects as required.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
Support and lead process improvement activities
Achieve goals within budget.
Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices and future trends.
Undertake continuous training and development.
Perform Contract Review / Planned Review Activities.
Review Customer Purchase order and Preview order.
Review Customer Quality Clauses & special requirements.
Review Planning and QC Release to the shop.
Review Details-parts and/ or Assembly with Engineering.
Review Boeing Part Standard, customer standard, Specifications, Part List, customer drawing, ADNC, Data list, 2D Model, 3D Cat model, etc.
Attend to Customer request via phone and e-mail.
Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Additional Comments:
Any additional duties can be assigned by the manager.
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of Quality Systems & Aerospace Standards requirements (AS9100) experience.
Knowledge and experience in GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Ability to work in a high-concentration and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to work with multiple teams and cross-functional leaders to make sure components are deployed and tested.
Experience/understanding of the 8D format and problem-solving techniques.
Experience/understanding of customer drawings, specifications and blueprint reading.
Experience in web applications software and test automation technologies is a plus.
Driving an idea or process improvement to completion
Computer literacy/proficiency/experience in MS Word, MS Excel & MS Access.
