Responsibilities

The Director - Respiratory Care (RRT) will:

  • Exhibit leadership by liaising with other departments to maintain communication and drive quality improvement initiatives.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance respiratory care services
  • Represent the Respiratory Department in meetings and various internal and external activities
  • Ensure respiratory therapists maintain high standards of clinical education and skills
  • Develop and uphold department policies and procedures
  • Manage staff, budgets, and overall departmental performance effectively
  • Collaborate with physician, nursing, and administrative leaders to set goals, develop strategies, and support the hospitals mission and operational success

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy
  • Current, unrestricted NYS Registered Respiratory Therapist license
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from AHA
  • 5+ years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care or hospital setting
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Experience and/or certification in one or more specialty areas of Respiratory Therapy, such as critical care or pulmonary function testing
