SUMMARY The Core Banking Systems Specialist supports the Bank's core system operations by assisting with implementation, security, and maintenance. These responsibilities also include ancillary applications and integration. Serving as a liaison between technology, operations, and other key stakeholders, the Core Banking Systems Specialist utilizes excellent communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate for this role should have an analytical mindset and highly organized and proactive approach to work. Overall, this specialist plays a key role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and integrity of core data. All employees are expected to protect the information and assets of the organization through heightened awareness of information security, cybersecurity, and risk management best practices, as well as complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for core banking systems and its interface to other Bank applications.
  • Proactively collaborates with key business partners to continuously improve the core banking systems experience for team members.
  • Identifies business, process and technology trends that will influence current and future core banking system experience.
  • Manage and maintain security credentials for various functions within Bank's core banking system.
  • Assist in maintaining the quality, consistency and integrity of the Bank's core data.
  • Assist with the creation of new products and branches within core systems.
  • Maintain and monitor changes to settings and parameters for core systems.
  • Assist in making changes to the core bank records ensuring the change is in accordance with the SMAIL or change procedures.
  • Assist with core system acquisitions/conversions and integration projects.
  • Assist in developing effective and efficient core system application processes.
  • Assist with business requirement analysis, documentation and change management.
  • Assist in the submission and tracking of core enhancements to improve efficiency.
  • Assist and maintain security for the core, ancillary applications, and other information systems when appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions to provide comprehensive learning reference materials.
  • Ensures technology policies, procedures and processes are followed.
  • Assist in collaborating with departmental managers to improve cross-departmental processes and communication.
  • Assist with incident and event management including the handling of core outages to minimize adverse impact to business lines.
  • Assist the Information Systems Manager with special projects.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a reporting framework.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, a related field, or a commensurate combination of education and experience required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in banking operations or a related field required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrable ability to translate and present data in a concise, meaningful manner to diverse audiences.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to analyze potential project outcomes with the adaptability to redirect attention as needed to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention detail.
  • A positive and proactive approach to work, demonstrating enthusiasm, adaptability, and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful or adverse conditions.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to analyze potential project outcomes with the adaptability to redirect attention as needed to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Ability to accurately and quickly complete standard mathematical calculations.
  • Proficient computer literacy, including comfort with Microsoft systems and Office Suite.
  • Intermediate typing skills to meet the needs of this position.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage; additionally, the ability to drive occasionally in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • The ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Direct experience with bank core processor reporting preferred.
