Entry-Level Design Engineer LJB Engineering, a national, multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm, is seeking a new or recent graduate with a bachelors degree in civil engineering to fill the role of an entry-level design engineer for our Transportation team. With our office located in South Portland, Maine, you must exhibit a professional attitude, visionary thinking, innovative ideas, analytical problem solving, and a willingness to collaborate while having the ability to work independently. Annual compensation: $67,000-80,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards. Entry-Level Design Engineer Essential Functions: Responsible for performing design tasks, engineering analysis, research, documentation of solutions with recommendations and development of construction documents. Develop design and perform engineering calculations. Conduct site visits/inspections, as needed. Develop project quantities. Prepare construction cost estimates. Assist and collaborate with team members (project engineers, project managers, CAD technicians) as needed for the successful completion of design assignments. Other duties as assigned. Entry-Level Design Engineer Essential Credentials: Education: Bachelors in civil engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program. 0-2 years of experience. Qualifications: Good written and verbal communication skills. Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) preferred. Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD and/or Micro Station) preferred.
