Overview
Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Cashier is responsible for all POS Credit transactions, customer contact, providing fast, efficient and friendly service at all times, while providing seamless service to our guests. Engages with guest through smiles and greetings, offering product information, providing selling suggestions and always giving a genuine thank you.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $25.52.

Responsibilities
- Maintains a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and fellow employees.
- Displays natural desire to greet, engage with and sincerely thank the guest.
- Communicates Food & Beverage offerings in the outlet; assist guest with concerns regarding offerings.
- Knowledge of Food &Beverage outlets open; ability to direct guests to additional locations.
- Accurately processes cash register transactions, inputting product costs, giving back change, processes debit and credit cards, traveler's checks, coupons and gift certificates.
- Understands the importance of and monitoring product pricing, signage and placement and the use of product shelf tags and accompanying UPC codes.
- Maintains the security of cash at all times.
- Understands and effectively communicates OVG concepts, our philosophies and is able to relate to our diverse population of guests.
- Adhere to OVG POS credit handling policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining merchandise displays in food courts, branded locations, pods, carts, etc.
- Monitors the proper recording of employees' meals and meal vouchers.
- Maintains work area by keeping it clean, neat and orderly.
- Notifies Leads/Managers regarding guest's complaints and concerns.
- Works well with others, helping to support each team member's effort to succeed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Educational Requirement
- Must have a High School Diploma/GED
- Must have sufficient math ability to accurately add, subtract, divide, multiply and perform other basic business math calculations and pass basic math skills test.
- Must speak, be able to read and understand English well enough to converse with customers, supervisor's and employees.
- Understand written and oral direction and communicate effectively with others.
- Must possess good organizational skills.
- Must have ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work
- Ability to work closely with others.
- Memorize products sold within the Food and Beverage locations.
- Must have a pleasant personality and adhere to Uniform Standards policy.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Must be able to work various shifts and hours to include holidays and weekends.
This position requires ability to operate a POS system as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, one must have the physical ability to maneuver around McCormick Place at times.The employee may be regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
