Responsibilities:

- Greet customers with a friendly demeanor and provide prompt assistance at the checkout counter
- Operate cash registers accurately and efficiently while handling cash transactions
- Scan and bag items for customers ensuring proper handling of all products
- Upsell promotional items or discounts to enhance customer experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area
- Assist in restocking shelves and maintaining inventory levels when needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures for cash handling
- Uphold Food Lion's commitment to outstanding customer service at all times
- Communicate effectively with customers to address inquiries or concerns
- Support supervisory staff in daily tasks as required

Experience:

- Previous experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred
- Proficiency in basic math skills for cash handling and transactions
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus
- Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with operating a cash register is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting
