Sr. Mechanical (or Mechatronics) Engineer , you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing advanced robotic and motion control systems for automated food equipment technology. Your expertise in CAD design, rapid prototyping, and various manufacturing techniques, will be instrumental in designing efficient and reliable automation solutions that enhance commercial kitchen processes. Responsibilities: Participate in the generation and review of intellectual property. Design, develop, and implement automated mechatronic systems for food automation. Utilize advanced CAD design software to create detailed 3D models and drawings. Implement rapid prototyping techniques, including additive manufacturing technologies, to efficiently iterate and validate design concepts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project specifications and propose innovative solutions. Oversee the prototyping, assembly, and testing of mechatronic systems. Perform system integration and testing to ensure proper operation. Develop and maintain technical documentation. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and guidelines. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Maintain current knowledge of new products and applications through self-study, hands-on testing of demo units, and periodic training. Contribute regularly to product definition and design in partnership with Product Management, Operations, Sales, R&D, and partner engineering teams. Occasional travel to support clients and installations (up to 25%). Qualifications: BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field. 10+ years of demonstratable experience in mechatronics system design and development Experience with 3D design software (such as SolidWorks or equivalent) Demonstrable skills in system modeling and simulation Versed in documentation packages (manufacturing drawings, BOM, assembly drawings and instructions, manuals, etc.) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Proven track record of successfully delivering automation projects on time and within budget. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
