**Job Summary**

We are currently seeking a **Sr. IT Administrator** . This position is located in **Sterling, VA** .

Primary responsibilities include overseeing and coordinate the installation, checkout, operation, and maintenance of the network system at two separate locations. This includes knowledge transfer from the incumbent contractor with regard to the existing facilities, connection to government networks, and associated requirements.

**Responsibilities**

+ Presents project results, both orally and in written form and is expected to interface daily with clients and stakeholders on-site.

+ Work with Windows and/or Linux servers, virtualization, storage systems, etc. and manage all network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, etc.

+ Work with our valued clients and related third parties to build, monitor and maintain both server and network systems for technology initiatives to support our contracted service obligations.

+ Perform server and network development and management through the entire lifecycle while working with Program Management to prioritize deliverables.

+ Perform end-user system maintenance and support and ensure all systems connected to the network infrastructure meet software requirements.

+ After an initial period where systems and processes are established:

+ Server Patching & Application Maintenance

+ Install new servers and decommission old servers

+ Changes/Updates to Server Configurations

+ Conduct manual and automated deployments

+ Backup Maintenance

+ Maintain documentation of the system and the administrative SOPs

**Key Qualifications**

+ Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems with 5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and and/or experience in a related field.

+ Experience with design, development, operation and maintenance of computer and security networks.

+ Experience with data back-up systems and knowledgeable with high-availability and Disaster Recovery (DR) best practices.

+ Strong communication skills regarding the ability to explain complicated computer concepts.

+ Demonstrated problem solving skills.

+ Significant experience analyzing data and writing reports using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

+ Candidates should be highly motivated self-starters with a strong desire to learn.

+ Strong oral and written communication skills.

+ Eligibility and willingness to obtain a Secret Clearance and DHS Suitability.

+ Must be US Citizen.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Masters Degree in Computer Information Systems.

+ Experience with Virtual hosted environments and their management (VMWare, Hyper-V).

+ Experience with scripting languages used for system configuration and maintenance (PowerShell, bash).

+ Experience with maintaining cloud-based services.

+ Certification in at least one server operating system (Windows Server, Linux).

+ Certification in at least one network technology (A+, CCNA, etc.).

+ Active Secret Clearance.

+ Active DHS Suitability.
