The Controller will manage the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and leadership, with a focus on improving financial processes and supporting strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
  • Reporting and oversight of tax preparation
Accounting Operations:
  • Manage the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversight and ability to do daily reporting requirements per industry requirements
Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasts.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Internal Controls:
  • Develop and implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
  • Monitor and evaluate internal controls to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Financial Analysis:
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
Team Leadership:
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Other Duties:
  • Coordinate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
    • Experience in public accounting and/or in a similar industry is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
  • Office environment with occasional travel required.
  • Extended hours may be necessary during peak financial periods.
