Job Summary The Office of Admissions is currently seeking an energetic, hardworking and professional student to serve as a student recruitment specialist at FIU. Responsibilities will include: Conduct tours of MMC to prospective students and select university partners and stakeholders. Staff the Office of Admissions welcome desk to answer questions and provide information to prospective students. Input contact card information into FIU database for prospective students. Manage and create content for the Join FIU social media accounts. Create welcome packets with FIU collateral pieces for prospective student groups, FIU departments, and Office of Admissions recruiters. Maintain and update an inventory list of materials and supplies maintained for admissions-related events. Support supervisors with annual Admissions events, including but not limited to Fall Showcase and Admitted Student Day at MMC and BBC. Remains up to date on FIU policies and practices in order to accurately inform prospective students about details related to the University. Receive and maintain all trainings/licenses related to specific Admissions/Enrollment functions. Perform other related duties as required or as directed. Job Category Federal Work Study Desired Qualifications Customer service knowledge. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Ability to take direction and work independently as needed. Consistent attendance and punctuality is required. Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information. Experience working in a customer service environment. Experience with university admissions process. Experience managing and creating social media content for professional accounts. Who May Apply Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package. Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end. Work Schedule 20 hours/week, depending on FWS Award and availability. Varied shifts. Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday shifts.
