Position Summary

The Cloud Security Engineer plays an important essential role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures to safeguard our cloud infrastructure and services. The role will collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices while proactively identifying and mitigating security risks in the cloud environment.

Essential Functions

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud security solutions to protect our cloud infrastructure and services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms.
  • Conduct security assessments and risk evaluations of cloud environments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures for containerized environments, including but not limited to Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring adherence to best practices, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Configure and manage security controls and configurations in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Monitor and analyze cloud security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Implement and maintain identity and access management (IAM) solutions to ensure appropriate access controls and permissions in the cloud environment.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline and automate security testing and compliance checks.
  • Conduct security training and awareness programs for cloud operations teams to enhance their understanding of cloud security best practices.
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies in the cloud computing space to continuously improve our security posture.
  • Manage and enhance web application firewalls (WAF) to safeguard cloud-based applications and services.
  • Participate in incident response activities and lead investigations into cloud security incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation.
