Job Summary
The Senior EKG Tech performs noninvasive cardiac procedures such as Electrocardiogram, Holter Monitor, Zio Patch, Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring, Late Potential Analysis, and Cardiac Stress Test on inpatients and outpatients. Extensive knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia is needed for EKGs, holter monitor procedures, and cardiac stress tests. The Senior EKG Tech assists in providing EKG training for student volunteers, and medical/nursing staff. Computer knowledge is required to operate clinical computer systems. The position also requires the ability to perform basic clerical procedures including scheduling, ling and answering phone calls, and demonstrates and maintains current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients. #CA-SB

American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR Certification or UCDH-issued CPR Certification High School Diploma or equivalent work experience / training At least one (1) year of experience as an EKG Tech or Telemetry Technician Experience performing technically good quality procedures on all age groups, i.e., infant, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Experience performing EKG, Exercise Stress procedures, Ambulatory Monitors, as well as hook-up, removal and download of Holter and Blood Pressure monitor procedures. Experience with cardiac rhythm identification. Ability to operate various clinical equipment (i.e. EKG machine, treadmill, ambulatory monitors, computer systems). Ability to provide educational training to patients, staff and students. Ability to read, write, take accurate messages, answer phones and enter data into computer systems.Preferred Qualifications

The Electrocardiography Services Department, better known as the EKG Lab, provides several cardiac lab services. These services include EKGs, holter monitors, zio patches, ambulatory blood pressure monitors, treadmill tests or stress test and more. The EKG team consists of Board-Certified Cardiologists, Nurse Practitioners, and trained EKG Technicians.
