Summary
This position is in the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Field Organization, Plains Area (PA), National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) located in Manhattan, KS.
In this position, you will serve as supervisor of a staff engaged in electronics security, visitor center administration, and other related physical security including activities related to the Sensitive Compartmental Information Facility (SCIF) and Counterintelligence operations for NBAF.
Duties
Plans, organizes, directs, and reviews security management, security countermeasures, facilities management from a security standpoint, and emergency preparedness for NBAF.
Provides physical security recommendations for storage of classified information, materials and equipment, and ensures visitors are notified and briefed on all security requirements during the visits.
Conducts inspections of the SCIF and any Temporary Secure Working Areas (TSWAs).
Oversees access control beginning with the campus entry control points, perimeter fencing, transshipping facility, central utility plant, visitor's center and main laboratory.
Prepares intelligence briefings and documents for the Security Director and other NBAF senior staff members.
As a supervisor, responsible for developing and/or editing position descriptions, making candidate selections for positions, assigning duties, reviewing work, approving/ disapproving leave and evaluating performance.
