PROGRAM DIRECTOR for the BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SCIENCE PROGRAM . Position Responsibilities and Primary Functions: The Program Director (PD) for Behaviroal Health Science will represent the program within the college and the outside community. Specifically, the PD will be responsible the following: Recruiting, directing, leading, and continuously evaluating and providing feedback on adjuncts and faculty for the program. Teaching program specific courses. Academically advising students within the program to ensure that students are succeeding in their coursework and registered for the courses necessary to graduate in a timely manner. Work with various members of Academic Affairs to establish the course schedule for each semester, staff instructors for all Behavioral Health courses, and provide guidance and feedback to BHS instructors. Monitoring student progress in program specific and general education courses. Admissions related activities, including but not limited to, Open Houses, Orientations and other recruitment activities. Develop an active diverse Advisory Board from the College and outside community leaders designed to ensure that the program is effective in preparing program graduates for success in the job market and/or transfer to a four-year program. Working closely with the office of Career and Transfer services to develop new relationships in the behavioral health community that would provide internship opportunities and new relationships with other colleges and universities to develop transfer opportunities. The PD’s focus and responsibilities will evolve and grow as the college continues to grow and develop a more detailed strategic plan. The position is a full-time, 12 month position that requires occasional evening and weekend hours. Occasional travel is required. The position reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs & Legal Affairs.

Position Qualifications

: Master’s Degree required Teaching experience in higher education required Superior strategic and tactical planning skills Strong technology / IT working knowledge Demonstrated leadership capacity with superior written and verbal Communication skills Sense of humor Ability to work collaboratively with all college constituencies including advancement and board of trustees Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and to provide leadership and direction in bringing diverse constituents together Driver’s license and car in good working order ABOUT HARCUM COLLEGE
