Canton, United States Senior Accountant CPA Full time

Gray & Gray and Associates, CPAs, P.C. is seeking an experienced, energetic and conscientious professional (CPA/EA preferred) to join growing team. Our accountants play a critical role in providing accounting services to diverse clientele. The ideal candidate possesses a strong grasp of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards. Strong attention for detail, excellent communication skills, being able to multi-task and work well independently and in a team environment are attributes of a successful candidate.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and review individual and business income tax returns
  • Perform tax research where appropriate
  • Preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, OCBA, etc.
  • Assist clients with tax planning, preparation, and compliance, while staying up-to-date with changing tax laws.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting and financial regulations, trends, and best practices.
  • Foster positive client relationships, addressing their financial inquiries and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures within the firm.

Job Requirements:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5-7+ years tax return preparation experience
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts involved in tax return preparation
  • Strong analytical skills to enable effective decision-making and ensure accurate financial analysis and reporting
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision/daily direction from partner or manager
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent client service orientation with an ability to handle pressure in a positive, professional manner
  • Computer skills including spreadsheet programs - proficiency in Thomson Reuters products a plus
  • Time and project management skills - ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Detail orientated with an ability to multi-task
